Shiny Happy (and Fit) People

Hello Friends!!

I want to talk a little bit today about who we hang out with. What do all the people in the picture above have in common? Lot's of things I'm guessing but for now we will focus on that they are all positive, ambitious, caring, funny, people. They are also, I'm happy to report, friends of mine :) Many people would say I'm super fortunate, and I am the first to agree with that, BUT the fact that my circle of friends is made up of people like this is no accident. It's a choice. You have the same choice.

The truth is that is if you allow negative people into your life and spend any amount of time with them they WILL drag you down to your level. You know the types of peeps I'm talking about, always complaining, gossiping, making excuses for why their life isn't better. People who talk smack about others who have big dreams and the ambition and commitment to make those dreams happen. People who are just plain DOWNERS. Glass half empty my life sucks and it's someone else's fault. We all know the type. These people are emotional POISON and will suck they life force out of you if you let them, so they easy answer is DON'T. Avoid them at all costs, even if they are close to you. This may be a tough decision to make but will improve the quality if your life infinitely. Trust me, I've been there ;)

The simple truth is that positive, happy people attract other positive, happy people so if you want to be surrounded by people who will support and challenge you to be a better person you need to become a person like that. Be like who you want to be around!! What are some of the most important qualities your ideal friend would have? Compassion? Sense of humor? Ambition? Positive outlook? Generosity? Whatever it is, work on those qualities within yourself and amazing things will start to happen for the better!! For realz.

And speaking of happy people, just one more common point about the peeps in the above picture. We all love fitness and make it a priority!! All those endorphins make it that much easier to have a sunny outlook on life. The bottom line is that fit people are generally happier. They feel more comfortable in their skin and are just healthier. Does this mean you have to be a size 2 with a 6 pack? Absolutely not, BUT regular physical activity and good nutrition is essential to being healthy and healthy people are usually happier people :)

So the message today is simple, choose your friends and actions wisely, it will have a huge impact on your quality of life, I promise. We're here for such a short time, who wouldn't want to make the best of it??

xoxo
