Gratitude and Perspective

Without getting into the nitty gritty details of my day let's just say that it was a bit of a challenge. We don't always know what the hell life is going to through at us and sometimes we just need to roll with it. Two things come to mind when I begin to feel stressed and overwhelmed, gratitude and perspective.

Gratitude for all the wonderful things in my life AND for the fact that things can always get worse but don't (that is your western zen thought of the day btw) Perspective because how we think about things determines how we will react. Put in another way, we don't always have control over what happens to us but we DO have control over how we react. Freaking out never helped anyone and stepping away from a situation without freaking almost always leads to more clarity for a resolution.

I am hoping that was not too rambly Dear Reader,  it has been a long day.
